Curriculum & Assessment

Assessment:
I use the following grades to assess student learning:
Picture

  •  The Art Curriculum is aligned with the Michigan Visual Arts Standards and   National Core Arts Standards.
  • Projects are cross curricular, often tied to Social Studies, Science, Math, and Literacy.
  • Students' interests and personal experiences/ prior knowledge are valued and incorporated in the classroom
  • Students learn to discuss and analyze artwork, using special art vocabulary. Discussions incorporate Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS).
  • New concepts build upon already learned concepts
  • Concepts are reviewed frequently
