For Y5-3rd Grade, this week is all about shape. A shape is the outline of an area or figure. It is formed when a line connects with its end or intersects with another line. Shape is one of the Elements of Art. Watch the video below to learn more about how artists use shape. Diffusion means spreading something out. In this case we will use water to diffuse markers. Line is one of the Elements of Art and a basic building block of art. Artists use different kinds of line to create artworks of different styles. Lesson for Y5/K/1- Piet MondrianThis week we will be using horizontal lines, vertical lines, and the primary colors to create an artwork inspired by Dutch artist Piet Mondrian. Enjoy and don't forget to share your work! Lesson for 4/5th grade- Contour LineThis week we will be using a continuous contour line to create an artwork. A contour line is the outline of an object or form without the use of shading. Using a continuous contour line means that you try not to pick up your drawing tool while creating your artwork. You should also really concentrate on the object you are drawing and only look at your paper some of the time or as little as possible. This is quite tricky!
